Love & Legacy

Love and legacy are two powerful concepts that are intertwined in families. When we love someone deeply, we want to leave a lasting impact on their lives, and this desire often extends beyond our own lifetime. We want to create a legacy that will be remembered and cherished by future generations.

One of the most significant ways we can leave a legacy is by passing down our values and traditions to our children and grandchildren. When we share our beliefs, experiences, and stories with our family members, we create a shared history that connects us across generations. This connection is vital for building strong, resilient families that can weather the ups and downs of life.

Love is the foundation of this legacy-building process. When we love our family members unconditionally, we create an environment of trust and support that allows us to share our true selves with one another. We can celebrate each other's successes, comfort each other in times of need, and build memories together that will last a lifetime.

In this way, love and legacy are both reciprocal. We give love to our family members, and in return, they carry our legacy forward. This legacy can take many forms, from family traditions and values to cherished memories and shared experiences. No matter what form it takes, however, our legacy is a reflection of the love we shared with our family members during our lifetime.

In conclusion, love and legacy are two of the most important concepts in family life. By sharing our love with our family members and creating a lasting legacy, we can build strong, resilient families that can weather any storm. So take the time to share your stories, traditions, and values with your loved ones today, and start building a legacy that will last for generations to come.

Here’s a bit more about mine:

Two things in life that individuals want to know, experience, and build, is on their origin and identity which often comes from our predecessors. We shouldn’t be summarized, judged, or even locked into the narratives of the life of someone else, but there is something to be learned from the traditions, lives, and familial heirlooms of the past.

The above image is of my family origin store. Love letters and a Tradition passed down since the 1700s between my grandmother and grandfather and the passage of story and bible through time from youngest Thornton to the youngest living generational male, documenting the journey of scripture and fidelity of love and eventual marriage as well as the preservation of grace through the biblical book and names documented.

The watch in the photos is from a collection of stopwatches my grandfather had and one I inherited as an image of the timeless roles these often play in the living stories of humanity that roam about the earth.

What about my life and story is going to learn from the bad and change it, but also appreciate and with gratitude see and accept the insights of positive life lived through these objects. My hope is to be creative in the stories and traditions I have despite the remorse, regret, and pain the past has caused.

In order to do that, I begin this site, and this journal to share and create/display the positive aspects of life that can be remembrances and conservations of the past, while integrating these concepts and mediums into the future and progression I hope to live, build, and see for myself and the future generations I hope to effect positively.

Brave New Kind is all about creative endeavors that tell and build a positive story, and connection, and emphasize elevating those who’ve been on the fringes and forgotten, solving the pain points for real people, and building a future we can be more confident and excited about. I hope that those who’ve been on that road and look backwards, can integrate and build a future of love and legacy that lengthens and extends our appreciation, understanding, and empathy for one another.
